Porcelain Veneers

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin coverings bonded onto the visible part of teeth. They can be used to correct a number of cosmetic dental issues such as:

  • stained teeth that won’t whiten with bleaching
  • misshapen or crooked teeth
  • uneven or large gaps

Benefits of porcelain veneers

  • Brighten your smile and eliminate stains
  • Create uniformity of teeth
  • Hide imperfections like chips or misalignment

How long does it take to get veneers?

During your first appointment your dentist will reduce minimal amounts of enamel to preserve the health of your teeth. An intraoral scanner will be used to scan your prepped teeth or impressions will be taken. You will leave the office with temporary veneers.

A talented ceramist will handcraft thin shells of porcelain to match your teeth, according to your dental scans or impressions. Once we receive your restorations, you will come for a second appointment to have your veneers cemented into place.

What are Lumineers?

In some cases, our cosmetic dentist will recommend Lumineers. These are extremely thin porcelain wafers that require minimal or no enamel reduction.

Taking care of your new smile

Your dentist will walk you through the instructions for care of your veneers. As with natural teeth, proper oral hygiene, good eating habits, and regular dental visits will help maintain the life of your veneers.
